THE SHUNGA TEMPLE 

The Net, sweating pornography from all it's pores ( even more than knowledge ), is a sort of new yoshiwara, a pleasure quarter open for all. What would be more appropriate then, than to celebrate in a little corner of it the memory of the original one ?
This is a small corner in my household where Shunga ( "pictures of sping" ), the erotic art of old Japan, is humbly celebrated.

There seems to be a lack of large scans of shunga prints in the Net, at the time of this writing. Most of what you get are small scans made by petty traders trying to sell their wares ( and apparently hiding the blemishes under a poor scan ?). I will try to make a small contribution to general availability of larger scans. A few small ones will be presented if I enjoy them too much. Like this one, my favorite:
